INVOICES

Bill the work.
Get paid sooner.

Create invoices by hand or from tracked time, send them with a secure payment link, and track every payment in one place.

Invoices are on every plan. Online payment needs a connected Stripe account.

Two ways to create an invoice

Create an invoice from scratch with line items, quantities, rates, discounts and notes, or use Invoice from time to draft one from a project’s approved billable time for a billing period. The time preview shows what will be billed and what was left out of the draft (for example, time that isn’t approved yet or has no rate), and you can add fixed fees such as a monthly retainer.

Time that’s already on an invoice can’t be billed twice. If you remove a line from a draft, its time goes back to unbilled.

Send, get paid and keep the record straight

Send the invoice by email with a PDF attached and a secure payment link, or share the payment link yourself. Clients with billing access can pay in their portal. Record other payments with Add Payment. If you need to cancel an issued invoice, Void it: the invoice is voided (in Stripe too, if it was issued there) and its time is released back to unbilled.

AI tools on the invoices page can flag potential billing errors and draft a polite payment reminder. For a wider overview, see invoicing software.
